Spotify is exploring an AI‑powered remix option that could cost users up to $5 extra per month, while the platform secures a new deal with Universal Music Group.
Spotify is reportedly evaluating an AI‑driven remix feature that would allow listeners to re‑mix tracks directly within the app. The company says the add‑on could be priced at up to $5 per month, adding a new tier to its subscription structure.
The proposed feature would let users tweak melodies, beats, and vocals using machine‑learning algorithms, creating personalized versions of popular songs. Spotify’s management has indicated that the service would be optional and available to premium subscribers.
In parallel, Spotify has signed a new licensing agreement with Universal Music Group, expanding its catalog of available tracks. The deal is expected to bring more exclusive content to the platform.
Industry observers note that the move could intensify competition with other streaming services that are also experimenting with AI‑generated music tools. Users will be watching closely to see how the feature is rolled out and priced.
