Delhi police announced a dedicated traffic management scheme around the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to handle the surge of vehicles during the upcoming Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath festivals.
The Delhi Police has issued a directive to implement a special traffic arrangement around the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) as the city prepares for the festive rush of Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath. The move aims to ensure smooth vehicular flow and prevent congestion in one of the capital’s busiest transport hubs.
Under the plan, additional traffic personnel will be posted at key entry and exit points of ISBT, and signal timings will be adjusted to prioritize movement towards and away from the terminal. Certain lanes will be converted to one‑way traffic during peak hours, and temporary parking bans will be enforced on adjacent streets to keep the area clear for commuters.
Police officials have urged motorists to follow the designated routes, avoid unauthorized parking, and cooperate with traffic police on the ground. Commuters are advised to use public transport where possible and to allow extra travel time during the festival days.
The arrangement is being coordinated with the Delhi Transport Department, which will monitor traffic patterns in real time and make further adjustments if required. Authorities expect the measures to reduce delays and enhance safety for both pedestrians and drivers during the holiday period.
