During the festival season, Indian Railways will run special trains from Rani Kamalapati station to Danapur, Rewa and Gaya, with up to 24 coaches per service. The Danapur special will operate 11 trips between 12 October and 16 November.
Indian Railways announced that three special trains will be introduced from Rani Kamalapati station in Bhopal to meet the surge in passenger demand during the festive period. The services are scheduled on three routes – Danapur, Rewa and Gaya – and each train can accommodate up to 24 coaches, providing additional capacity for holiday travelers.
The Danapur special is the first to be detailed. It will run from 12 October to 16 November, making eleven round trips between Bhopal and Danapur. The extended rake length is intended to ease crowding on regular services and ensure smoother journeys for passengers heading to Bihar.
Parallel special services will also be deployed for Rewa and Gaya. While exact timings are yet to be released, both routes will benefit from the same 24‑coach configuration, offering a uniform relief measure across the three destinations.
Railway officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to decongest regular trains during peak travel days associated with festivals, aiming for a safer and more comfortable travel experience for commuters across central and eastern India.
