South East Central Railway has floated a ₹601.90 crore EPC tender for the construction of a road‑rail link between Paradol and Nagpur in Chhattisgarh.

South East Central Railway (SECR) has announced a new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender worth ₹601.90 crore for a road‑rail link between Paradol and Nagpur in Chhattisgarh. The tender, issued on 27 July 2024, seeks a comprehensive solution covering design, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction of the entire link.

The proposed rail link will connect the town of Paradol in Chhattisgarh with the major city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, creating a vital corridor for freight and passenger traffic. By providing a direct rail connection, the project aims to reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, and boost economic activity in the region.

SECR has invited qualified contractors to submit bids by 15 September 2024. The contract will be awarded on a turnkey basis, with the successful bidder responsible for delivering a fully operational line within the stipulated timeline. The tender documents outline technical specifications, quality standards, and performance guarantees.

Officials say the project will enhance regional connectivity, support industrial growth, and integrate Chhattisgarh more closely with the national rail network. The EPC contract is expected to create jobs during construction and improve logistics for local businesses.
