A video released by NDTV Rajasthan shows the Special Operations Group intervening in Dotasara village of Jaipur district amid heightened political tension during the Panchayat elections, involving BJP and Congress representatives including Madan Rathore.
NDTV Rajasthan aired a video that captures a Special Operations Group (SOG) team moving into Dotasara, a village in Jaipur district, as the local Panchayat elections were under way. The footage shows armed personnel setting up positions and conducting checks in the area, a step taken to prevent any disruption to the voting process.
The SOG deployment comes against a backdrop of heightened political rivalry between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress, both of which have fielded candidates for the Panchayat seats. Sources familiar with the situation said the presence of the elite force was intended to deter any attempts at intimidation or violence.
Among the political figures visible in the video is Madan Rathore, a local leader whose affiliation with one of the contesting parties was noted by observers. While the exact trigger for the SOG action was not disclosed, officials have indicated that the move is part of routine security measures during contested local elections.
No further details on arrests or incidents have been released, and the district administration has urged residents to cooperate with security personnel to ensure a peaceful polling day.
