Slender loris killed in road accident near Kankumbi, Karnataka

Karnataka wildlife officials reported that a slender loris, a small nocturnal primate, was found dead after a vehicle collision on a rural road near the town of Kankumbi. The incident was discovered by local residents who alerted forest department staff, who confirmed the animal had suffered fatal injuries.
The slender loris, listed as vulnerable in the IUCN Red List, is increasingly threatened by habitat loss and road traffic in the Western Ghats region.
