Six and a half years after its proposal, the urban Community Health Centre at Dhakoli, Mohali, remains unfinished and still awaits essential facilities.
The proposed urban Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dhakoli in Mohali was slated for completion more than six years ago, yet construction work has not progressed to a usable stage. Despite the passage of time, the site remains largely unfinished, with basic infrastructure still missing.
The CHC was intended to serve as a modern primary health facility for the rapidly growing urban population of Mohali, offering outpatient services, diagnostics and emergency care. As of now, the building lacks the essential medical equipment and functional wards that would enable it to operate.
Local residents continue to rely on the existing Dhakoli Hospital, which is also awaiting the promised facilities and upgrades tied to the CHC project. The delay hampers access to quality healthcare for the community and places additional strain on nearby hospitals.
