The Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy Plate fixture between Sikkim and Meghalaya women’s cricket teams took place in Kolkata on 21 December 2026.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) scheduled a Plate‑level encounter of the Senior Women’s One‑Day Trophy between the Sikkim and Meghalaya state teams on 21 December 2026. The match formed part of the tournament’s lower tier, providing emerging players with valuable competitive exposure.
The fixture was held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, West Bengal, a venue traditionally associated with high‑profile men’s matches but increasingly hosting women’s cricket to promote the game’s growth. Both squads arrived a day earlier for practice sessions on the ground.
For Sikkim, the game represented an opportunity to benchmark progress after a season of intensive training camps, while Meghalaya aimed to build on its recent performances in the Plate group. Coaches from both sides emphasized the importance of fielding discipline and batting depth in the limited‑overs format.
The BCCI’s continued investment in the Women’s One‑Day Trophy underscores its commitment to expanding the domestic cricket structure, ensuring that teams from smaller states receive regular match practice and a pathway to higher competition levels.
