The folk thriller ‘The Vvaan’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, has emerged as a surprise hit, driven by overwhelming audiences in Bihar.
The Hindi‑language folk thriller ‘The Vvaan’, featuring Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, opened to modest expectations but quickly captured public imagination. The film weaves regional folklore with contemporary drama, positioning itself as a distinctive offering in the current market.
Within weeks of its release, box‑office data showed a sharp surge in ticket sales from the state of Bihar, where the story’s cultural references resonated strongly with local audiences. The surge turned the film into one of the season’s most profitable ventures, prompting distributors to expand screenings across neighboring regions.
Industry analysts attribute the success to a combination of grassroots word‑of‑mouth, strategic promotion in smaller towns, and the star pair’s appeal among younger viewers. The performance underscores the growing clout of regional narratives in shaping pan‑Indian box‑office trends.
