Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar told The Times of India that he was once approached for a role in Emraan Hashmi’s film ‘Gangster’ and later received a Bollywood offer from Salman Khan.

Former Pakistan cricket star Shoaib Akhtar revealed in a recent interview with The Times of India that film makers had approached him for a role in the 2006 thriller ‘Gangster’, starring Emraan Hashmi. Akhtar said the offer came at a time when Bollywood was experimenting with crossover talent from sports.

He also mentioned that Bollywood megastar Salman Khan later extended a separate offer for an unspecified project. Akhtar did not elaborate on the nature of the role or why the proposals did not materialise.

The fast‑bowler, known for his record‑breaking speed on the cricket field, has occasionally been linked to the Indian film industry, but he has not taken up any acting assignments to date.
