In the third phase of Rajasthan’s panchayat elections, Sharda Kumari Rana emerged victorious in Jalore, beating six candidates each worth crores of assets.
The third phase of Rajasthan’s rural local body elections has delivered a striking result in Jalore district. Sharda Kumari Rana secured the panchayat seat, overcoming a field that included six candidates whose declared assets each crossed the crore mark.
Election officials confirmed that the contest was closely watched, as the presence of multiple affluent candidates raised expectations of a high‑profile battle. Despite the financial clout of her opponents, Rana’s campaign focused on grassroots issues, resonating with voters across the constituency.
Her victory underscores the continuing relevance of local leadership in Rajasthan’s political landscape, where voters appear willing to prioritize community‑oriented agendas over wealth. The outcome adds to the broader narrative of the state’s ongoing panchayat elections, which are shaping the next tier of governance in rural areas.
