Shaleen Kabra, a senior IAS officer, has been appointed as the Director General of the Indian Maritime Port Authority (IMPA), taking over from the previous head.

Shaleen Kabra was announced as the new Director General of the Indian Maritime Port Authority (IMPA) on 27 October 2024, succeeding the outgoing DG. The appointment was confirmed by the Ministry of Shipping in a press release. Kabra, a career IAS officer, has held key positions in the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, including as Joint Secretary in the Shipping Department. He has been instrumental in modernising port operations and enhancing maritime safety protocols. IMPA, which regulates and oversees the development of India's ports, will now be led by Kabra, who is expected to drive further reforms and improve port efficiency across the country.
