The Shahpura toll on the Bhopal-Jabalpur road will be shut within 24‑48 hours, and vehicles will not be charged until the damaged railway bridge is rebuilt, said PWD minister Rakesh Singh.
The Shahpura toll plaza on the Bhopal‑Jabalpur highway is set to be closed within the next one to two days following the collapse of the Shahpura railway bridge, which forced traffic to be diverted onto a temporary route.
Public Works Department (PWD) minister Rakesh Singh announced that toll collection will be suspended until the bridge is fully reconstructed, ensuring that commuters are not charged for the detoured passage.
The decision comes as authorities work to restore the damaged bridge, a critical link for both freight and passenger movement in the region. In the meantime, the Lokpath mobile application will continue to provide real‑time bus schedules for travelers navigating the diverted route.
