In Dehradun, political leader Shah criticised the previous Congress administration for its stance on China and migration, and announced development projects worth ₹15,000 crore.

Dehradun witnessed a high‑profile political event on Tuesday as Shah, a senior leader of the ruling party, launched a series of development initiatives valued at ₹15,000 crore. Addressing a gathering of party workers and local officials, Shah accused the former Congress government of being overly apprehensive about China and of failing to address migration concerns affecting the state.

He argued that the previous administration’s policies had created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, which hampered economic growth and displaced residents. By contrast, Shah presented the new projects as a roadmap to boost infrastructure, create jobs, and strengthen border‑area resilience.

The announced schemes cover road upgrades, tourism promotion, renewable‑energy installations, and skill‑development centres across Uttarakhand. Shah emphasized that the funding would be sourced from both state allocations and central government support, aiming for swift implementation within the next two years.

Political analysts noted that the remarks were aimed at consolidating the ruling party’s narrative ahead of upcoming state elections, while also signaling a tougher stance on national security issues linked to China. The projects, if executed as outlined, could significantly alter the region’s economic landscape.

Local residents expressed cautious optimism, hoping that the large‑scale investments will translate into tangible improvements in connectivity and employment opportunities.
