Political leader Shah has charged the Mamata‑led West Bengal administration with obstructing the rollout of recently drafted criminal legislation.
Shah, a senior political figure, publicly accused the West Bengal government headed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of deliberately hindering the implementation of a set of newly drafted criminal laws. He claimed that the administration's actions are undermining efforts to modernise the state's criminal justice framework.
The proposed legislation, which aims to tighten penalties for certain offences and streamline investigative procedures, was introduced earlier this year and is intended to address rising concerns over law and order.
