Heavy rain caused a sewer overflow in Baljeet Nagar, Delhi, leading to dirty water inundating several streets.

Baljeet Nagar in Delhi experienced a sudden surge of wastewater after a sewer system overflowed following heavy rainfall. The excess water spilled onto the main thoroughfares and narrow lanes, turning them into temporary streams of murky flow.
The overflow disrupted traffic, with several vehicles forced to halt or reroute, and raised concerns about public health due to the stagnant, contaminated water. Residents reported difficulty accessing their homes and expressed anxiety over possible water‑borne diseases.
Delhi Municipal Corporation officials arrived on the scene within an hour, deploying pump trucks and cleaning crews to divert and remove the water. Engineers inspected the affected manholes and began flushing the system to prevent further backflow.
Authorities have advised locals to avoid the flooded areas, use alternative routes, and report any standing water that persists. Continuous monitoring will be maintained until the sewer network returns to normal operation.
