After saint Bannanath died in Sangsar village, authorities exhumed his body about 50 hours later and filed a murder case against seven people.

A local saint identified as Bannanath was found dead in the village of Sangsar, located in Churu district of Rajasthan. His relatives immediately alleged that the death was not natural and lodged a murder complaint with the police.

Approximately 50 hours after the initial burial, officials obtained a court order to open the grave and retrieve the body. The exhumed remains were taken to a nearby medical facility where a post‑mortem examination was conducted to determine the cause of death.

Based on the preliminary findings, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) for murder and named seven individuals as suspects. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and further investigation is underway.

The investigation team has said that they will submit a detailed report to the senior magistrate after completing forensic analysis. No further details about the suspects or motive have been released at this stage.
