In Sehore, authorities seized 3 machines for violating NGT norms. The action was taken against sand mafia for flouting environmental regulations.
The National Green Tribunal's (NGT) norms were being openly flouted in Sehore. The sand mafia was found to be operating without regard for environmental regulations. In a surprise move, a team raided the site and seized 3 submersible machines and 5 JCBs. The action is seen as a crackdown on illegal sand mining activities in the area. The NGT had earlier imposed restrictions on such activities to protect the environment.
