Security forces have increased patrols and checkpoints along the Jammu‑Srinagar Highway in anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
On 15 August 2024, security agencies stepped up measures along the 360‑km Jammu‑Srinagar Highway.
Additional checkpoints, armed patrols, and surveillance drones were deployed to monitor traffic and prevent any potential threats.
The move comes as part of the broader security strategy to safeguard the region during the national holiday.
Local authorities assured commuters that the measures would be temporary and would not significantly disrupt travel.
