The Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Bhopal will begin routine checks of public ration outlets, and tehsildars have been warned for delays in addressing complaints.

The administration in Bhopal has tightened oversight of government‑run ration shops. The Sub‑Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has been tasked with carrying out regular inspections to ensure that the outlets comply with prescribed standards.
These inspections will be scheduled on an ongoing basis, aiming to monitor stock availability, pricing and service quality at the shops that dispense essential food items to the public.
In parallel, tehsildars responsible for addressing consumer complaints have received formal notices for perceived negligence in resolving grievances. The notices underscore the authority's intent to hold officials accountable for prompt redressal.
Officials indicated that the combined approach of proactive inspections and stricter enforcement against lax complaint handling is intended to improve the reliability of the public distribution system in the city.
