Several Indian states have announced a holiday on November 4, 2026, prompting parents and students to check local education department notices for confirmation.
The education departments of multiple Indian states have issued notices declaring November 4, 2026, a school holiday. The decision, announced through official circulars and online portals, applies to government and many private schools within the respective jurisdictions. Parents are advised to verify the status of individual institutions, as some schools may remain open for examinations or special programs.
State‑wise updates indicate that states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have confirmed the closure, while others are awaiting final confirmation from district authorities. The holiday coincides with a national observance, prompting the coordinated announcement across regions.
Students and teachers are encouraged to use the day for rest or preparatory study, and schools will resume regular schedules on November 5, 2026, unless further directives are issued. Official channels, including state education department websites and SMS alerts, remain the primary sources for the latest information.
