Satna police have arrested three suspects in the killing of senior citizen Ramashankar Garg, linking the crime to a dispute over a Rs 30,000 loan and interest.
Satna police disclosed that the murder of 71‑year‑old Ramashankar Garg, a resident of the Civil Line area, was motivated by a financial quarrel. The investigation revealed that the accused demanded repayment of a Rs 30,000 loan along with interest, and the disagreement escalated into a fatal assault.
According to officials, the three suspects approached the victim’s residence on a weekday evening, confronted him about the outstanding amount, and subsequently inflicted fatal injuries. The victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
The police apprehended all three individuals within 24 hours of the incident, based on eyewitness statements and forensic evidence. They have been presented before the Satna District Court, where bail petitions will be considered.
Authorities emphasized that disputes over small loans should be resolved through legal channels, warning that personal vendettas can lead to serious criminal consequences.
