Sajad Lone Seeks Update on 1987 Election Rigging Resolution, Gets No Reply

Sajad Lone, a senior member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, sent a formal letter to the Assembly Secretariat asking for a progress report on the resolution that seeks to address the alleged rigging of the 1987 state elections. Lone noted that the issue has remained unresolved for decades, despite repeated calls from opposition parties and civil society groups.

The Assembly Secretariat has not issued any official reply to Lone's correspondence, leaving the legislator and his supporters uncertain about the government's stance. Sources within the assembly indicated that the secretariat is reviewing the request but has not scheduled a meeting or issued a written response.
