Jaipur witnessed a Run for Unity on Thursday, timed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, organized by local authorities, aimed to promote communal harmony and civic pride across Rajasthan.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi were among the prominent participants, joining thousands of walkers along the city’s main boulevard. Both leaders highlighted the importance of unity in a diverse society and encouraged citizens to engage in similar initiatives.
The run also coincided with the national observance of Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, underscoring a broader theme of national cohesion. Organisers said the turnout reflected growing public interest in community‑building activities.
Authorities plan to make the Run for Unity an annual fixture, aligning it with key commemorative dates to reinforce messages of solidarity and collective responsibility.
