The Gujarat University will receive Rs 100 crore from the PM‑Usha scheme to build a 500‑seat auditorium, new student hostels and a futsal ground.
Gujarat University in Ahmedabad has been allocated Rs 100 crore under the Prime Minister’s Usha (PM‑Usha) scheme. The funding will be used to construct a 500‑seat auditorium, additional student hostels and a dedicated futsal ground on the campus.
The new auditorium is expected to host academic conferences, cultural events and large‑scale seminars, addressing the university’s growing demand for modern event spaces. The hostels will increase residential capacity for out‑station students, while the futsal ground aims to promote indoor sports and provide training facilities.
Project officials said construction will commence later this year, with completion targeted within the next two years. The initiative reflects the central government’s focus on enhancing higher‑education infrastructure across the country.
