In the recent Bihar MLC elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal captured the Patna Teachers and Darbhanga Graduates seats, taking them from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Only three of the eight seats remained with the NDA alliance.

The latest Bihar MLC election results saw the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) win two seats that had previously been held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The victories came in the Patna Teachers constituency and the Darbhanga Graduates seat, marking a significant gain for RJD.

Out of the eight seats contested in the Bihar Legislative Council, only three remained with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The RJD's success in these two constituencies underscores a shift in voter sentiment in key educational and graduate electorates.

The Patna Teachers seat, long considered a BJP stronghold, swung decisively to RJD, reflecting growing support among educators. Similarly, the Darbhanga Graduates seat, a critical barometer for the region’s educated voters, also fell to RJD.

These results suggest an expanding influence for RJD in Bihar’s political landscape, potentially altering the balance of power in the state's upper house. The party’s performance is seen as a boost ahead of upcoming state elections.

Observers note that the RJD’s gains could reshape alliances and policy priorities in the Bihar Legislative Council, as the party now holds a stronger foothold in two key constituencies.
