Neelkanth Mishra of Asianet Newsable warns that higher fuel costs and constrained financing are weighing down global demand.
Neelkanth Mishra, a senior analyst at Asianet Newsable, highlighted that escalating fuel prices are adding pressure on worldwide demand. He noted that the surge in oil and gas costs is raising production expenses across industries, which in turn is curbing consumption.
Mishra also pointed out that financing conditions have tightened, particularly in emerging economies, limiting new investments and slowing growth momentum. The combination of higher energy bills and restricted credit is creating a dual drag on the global economic outlook.
He cautioned that without a moderation in fuel price volatility and an easing of credit constraints, the slowdown could persist longer than anticipated. Mishra urged policymakers to coordinate efforts to stabilise energy markets and improve access to financing to support demand recovery.
