Retiring MP High Court Judge Avnendra Kumar Singh Donates ₹1.01 Crore to PM‑Cares Fund

Jabalpur – Justice Avnendra Kumar Singh, a sitting judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, concluded his judicial career by making a public pledge to contribute a substantial sum to a national relief fund. On the day he retired, he disclosed that he would transfer ₹1.01 crore from his Government Provident Fund (GPF) to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM‑Cares) Fund, a scheme set up to address emergencies and disasters across the country.

The judge’s decision underscores a growing trend among senior public servants to channel personal savings toward charitable causes after retirement.
