On his retirement day, Justice Avinendra Kumar Singh announced a donation of ₹1.01 crore from his GPF to the PM CARES Fund and registered a body donation with Jabalpur Medical College.
Justice Avinendra Kumar Singh, a sitting judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, chose his last day in service to make a charitable gesture. Upon retiring in Jabalpur, he publicly declared that he would contribute ₹1.01 crore from his General Provident Fund (GPF) to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund.
The donation, amounting to just over one crore rupees, is intended to support the fund’s disaster relief and health‑related initiatives. By directing his retirement savings to a government‑run relief scheme, the judge highlighted a personal commitment to public welfare beyond his judicial duties.
In addition to the monetary contribution, Justice Singh and his wife completed the registration for a body donation at Jabalpur Medical College, signalling their willingness to aid medical education and research after death. Both actions were reported by local media as examples of civic responsibility from a senior legal figure.
