A group of senior Hindu saints announced the creation of a committee aimed at cleansing and standardising the teachings of Sanatan Shastra.
Senior Hindu saints convened in a private gathering and disclosed the formation of a dedicated committee to purify Sanatan Shastra, the ancient corpus of Hindu philosophy and practice. The announcement, made through a press release, emphasises the need to eliminate distortions that have crept into the texts over time.
The committee will comprise respected scholars, ascetics and custodians of traditional knowledge, all of whom have spent decades studying the scriptures. Their mandate includes reviewing existing commentaries, identifying interpolations, and proposing a unified, authentic version for public dissemination.
Organisers said the body will publish revised editions, conduct seminars across major temples and educational institutions, and issue guidelines for teachers and priests. The initiative seeks to reinforce a coherent understanding of Sanatan Shastra among devotees and scholars alike.
While the move has been welcomed by many traditionalists, the saints have refrained from commenting on any specific controversies, stating that the process will be scholarly and inclusive.
