Reliance, Tata Steel Propel Sensex Over 1000-Point Gain as FIIs Return

The National Stock Exchange's Sensex surged over 1000 points in the morning session, led by strong gains in Reliance Industries and Tata Steel, as foreign institutional investors resumed buying.
The NSE’s benchmark index, Sensex, opened higher and crossed the 1000‑point mark on the day, marking one of the strongest starts in recent weeks. The rally was anchored by a 3.5% jump in Reliance Industries, which climbed to a record high, and a 4% rise in Tata Steel, pushing the index up by 1,050 points.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) accounted for a net inflow of ₹2.3 billion in the first hour, the first positive flow since the previous week, signalling renewed confidence in Indian equities.
Analysts noted that the combination of domestic earnings optimism and improved global risk sentiment helped lift the market. The rally also lifted other blue‑chip names such as HDFC Bank and Infosys.
Despite the gains, market participants remain cautious ahead of the upcoming RBI policy meeting, which could influence short‑term volatility.
