The Red Fort will conduct a full dress rehearsal for the 15th August Independence Day celebrations on 13 August, with traffic advisories in place.
The Government of India has announced that the Red Fort in Delhi will hold a full dress rehearsal for the 15th August Independence Day ceremony on 13 August 2024.
The rehearsal will involve all participants, including the President, the Prime Minister, and various military contingents, to ensure the main event runs smoothly. It is expected to last several hours and will be conducted in full ceremonial dress.
In response, traffic authorities have issued a comprehensive advisory. Key roads such as Rajpath, Lajpat Nagar, and the stretch around the India Gate will see restricted access. Commuters are urged to use alternate routes and plan their journeys accordingly.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has coordinated with the Delhi Police and the Traffic Police to manage the crowd and maintain public safety during the rehearsal.
