Residents of Raxaul’s Parsouna‑Tapasi corridor have challenged the government’s claim that the main road is motorable, pointing to persistent mud, potholes and waterlogging.

The state road department’s records label the Parsouna‑Tapasi stretch in Raxaul as a motorable highway, yet villagers on the ground report a deteriorating surface riddled with deep potholes and standing water.

Local residents said the road, which serves as a vital link for commuters and transporters, becomes almost impassable during the monsoon, with mud and water pooling in low‑lying sections.

The discrepancy between official documentation and on‑site conditions has sparked protests, with community members demanding immediate repair work and a revision of the road’s status in government records.

Authorities have not yet issued a formal response, but the pressure from the affected populace is expected to prompt a field inspection and possible remedial action.
