Ranchi is set to expand its rail connectivity with the launch of 25 new train services in the coming months. The plan includes the high‑speed Vande Bharat Express, several superfast trains, and new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) services that will link the city with surrounding districts.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express will reduce travel time to major hubs, while the MEMU services aim to improve daily commuter movement across the state. Superfast trains are expected to enhance connectivity to key economic centers.
Railway officials say the expansion will boost local commerce, create jobs and ease congestion on existing routes. The new services are part of a broader initiative to modernise rail infrastructure in Jharkhand.
The Ministry of Railways has confirmed that the first of these trains will start operations by the end of the year, with the full schedule to be released shortly.
