The Rakhi holiday has triggered a surge of travelers from Indore, leaving seats fully booked on trains and buses heading to Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and other major cities.

Indore is witnessing a sharp rise in passenger traffic as the Rakhi festival prompts many to return home. The festive period traditionally sees a spike in inter‑city travel, and this year the demand has outpaced available capacity.

Rail and road operators report that trains departing from Indore toward Delhi, Mumbai and Pune are completely booked, with similar pressure on bus services covering Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and the national capital corridor. Seats on these routes have been reported as fully occupied, leaving travelers to seek alternative arrangements.

Transport authorities have advised passengers to secure tickets well in advance and consider off‑peak timings where possible. The sudden surge has also led to longer waiting times at stations and bus terminals, adding to the overall congestion.

While the situation remains manageable, officials warn that continued high demand could strain services further if additional bookings are not spaced out. Travelers are urged to stay updated through official channels for any changes in schedules or availability.
