Under the PM-Setu programme, the Rajasthan government approved a ₹241 crore fund for the Bhilwara ITI cluster, linking it with private industry that will acquire a 51% share and provide job‑oriented training.
Jaipur, Oct 13 — The Rajasthan government, acting under the Prime Minister’s Setu (PM‑Setu) scheme, has sanctioned a capital outlay of ₹241 crore for the Bhilwara Industrial Training Institute (ITI) cluster. The funding is intended to integrate private sector partners with government‑run ITIs, enabling a curriculum that directly aligns with industry needs.
Under the agreement, participating companies will acquire a 51% equity stake in the cluster, giving them a controlling role in designing and delivering skill‑development programmes. The model aims to bridge the gap between traditional vocational training and actual job requirements, promising placement opportunities for trainees upon completion.
While the Bhilwara cluster moves forward with confirmed industry partners, officials say that similar arrangements are being pursued for eleven other clusters across the state. The search for suitable corporate collaborators continues, with the goal of replicating the Bhilwara model statewide.
State officials highlighted that the initiative is part of a broader effort to boost youth employment in Rajasthan, leveraging the PM‑Setu framework to create a self‑sustaining ecosystem of training, certification, and guaranteed job pathways.
The scheme, launched in 2023, seeks to transform government ITIs into industry‑driven hubs, reducing skill mismatches and enhancing the employability of the state's young workforce.
