The Rajasthan government will conduct a house‑to‑house verification of the Food Security Scheme from October to December, removing ineligible families and adding eligible ones.

The state government of Rajasthan has announced a comprehensive door‑to‑door verification of the Food Security Scheme (Public Distribution System) that will run from October through December 2024. The exercise is designed to pinpoint households that no longer satisfy the eligibility criteria; those identified as ineligible will receive formal notices. At the same time, families that qualify but are missing from the current list will be enrolled to receive subsidised grains. Officials from the Department of Food and Civil Supplies will visit every village and urban ward, examining documents and cross‑checking them against existing records. The survey forms part of Rajasthan's broader effort to curb leakage, improve targeting and ensure that the scheme reaches the truly needy ahead of the next financial year.
