The state government will assess and rank every government college each month, rewarding high performers and focusing on employability, digital libraries and infrastructure.
The Rajasthan government announced a new scheme that will grade and rank all 669 government colleges on a monthly basis. Under the plan, each institution will receive a performance score that determines its position in a statewide ranking list.
Colleges that achieve higher scores will be eligible for additional support and recognition, aiming to create a competitive environment that drives overall quality improvement. The initiative seeks to motivate institutions to enhance teaching standards, research output and student outcomes.
Key focus areas include the introduction of job‑oriented curricula, the expansion of digital library resources, and upgrades to campus facilities. The state also intends to use the rankings to boost NAAC ratings for its colleges, aligning them with national quality benchmarks.
Implementation will begin in the upcoming academic session, with the first set of rankings expected to be released after the initial month of data collection.
