The Rajasthan Medical and Health Department has temporarily suspended the Transaction Management System of 215 private pharmacies under the RGHS after reports of delayed drug supply to beneficiaries, with 39 pharmacies in Jaipur facing immediate penalties.

The state’s Medical and Health Department announced that the Transaction Management System (TMS) used by 215 private pharmacies under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) has been suspended for a limited period. The move comes after multiple complaints that beneficiaries were not receiving prescribed medicines on time.

Officials said the delay appeared to stem from negligence in processing pharmacy transactions, which undermines the scheme’s goal of providing affordable medicines to the poor. By halting the TMS, the department aims to compel the pharmacies to rectify their supply chain and billing practices.

In Jaipur, 39 of the listed pharmacies were singled out for harsher action, with their accounts flagged and subject to further investigation. The department warned that continued non‑compliance could lead to revocation of their participation in the RGHS.

The health ministry has not disclosed the exact duration of the suspension but indicated that a review will be conducted before reinstating the system. Beneficiaries are advised to approach nearby government dispensaries for urgent medication needs during this period.
