A cold snap has pushed night-time lows below 20°C across more than fifteen cities in Rajasthan, including Jaisalmer, while daytime remains sunny.
The Indian Meteorological Department reported that a cold wave is affecting Rajasthan, with minimum temperatures falling below 20°C in over fifteen districts. Cities such as Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Udaipur recorded night-time lows ranging between 16°C and 19°C, a marked drop from the usual winter minima.
Despite the chilly nights, daytime temperatures have stayed relatively high, with clear skies and sunshine across the state. The contrast between warm afternoons and cold evenings is typical of a dry winter pattern, but the current dip is deeper than average for this time of year.
Authorities have advised residents to dress warmly during the night and to take precautions for vulnerable groups, especially the elderly and children. No major disruptions to travel or power supply have been reported so far.
The weather outlook suggests that the cold spell may linger for a few more days before gradual warming resumes in early December.
