The Rajasthan police have issued an advisory alerting shoppers to counterfeit discount URLs, bogus websites and AI‑driven shopping frauds targeting Diwali sales, urging victims to call 1930.

Jaipur, Rajasthan – In the run‑up to the Diwali shopping season, the Rajasthan police released a public advisory warning consumers about a surge in online fraud. Scammers are circulating deceptive discount links that redirect users to counterfeit e‑commerce sites, often mimicking popular retailers.

The notice also highlights a newer threat: AI‑generated shopping scams that use sophisticated chatbots and deep‑fake product images to lure buyers into making payments on fraudulent platforms. Victims may see seemingly genuine offers, but the transactions end up in the fraudsters' accounts.

Authorities advise shoppers to verify website URLs, look for secure HTTPS connections, and cross‑check offers on official retailer apps or portals. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately by dialing the police helpline 1930.

The advisory aims to protect consumers’ bank accounts and personal data during the high‑volume festive period, reminding the public that legitimate discounts are rarely advertised through unsolicited messages or unfamiliar links.
