Rajasthan Police Seize ₹4.95 Lakh Fake Currency in Dungarpur Counterfeit Raid

Dungarpur police arrested two suspects and recovered 991 counterfeit notes worth ₹4.95 lakh, along with printing and lamination equipment.
The Ram Sagda police station in Dungarpur launched a raid on a rented room suspected of producing counterfeit Indian currency. Officers from the district’s crime unit detained two individuals believed to be part of a larger forgery network.
During the operation, investigators seized 991 fake banknotes with a combined face value of ₹4,95,500. The haul also included a high‑speed printer and a lamination machine used to give the notes a genuine appearance.
Police officials said the seizure disrupts a supply chain that could have circulated the counterfeit notes across the state. The two accused are being held for further questioning, and the case is being forwarded to the district court for trial.
