Police in Sikar’s Industry Nagar area have detained two suspects for luring a Jaipur hotel businessman into a honey‑trap, stealing Rs 10 lakh and forging a mortgage on a flat after bringing him from Chandigarh.

Sikar police, operating from the Industry Nagar police station, announced the arrest of two men suspected of orchestrating a sophisticated honey‑trap scheme against a hotel entrepreneur from Jaipur. The suspects, identified as Niranjan alias Ninjoo and Nikhil, are accused of deceiving the businessman, luring him to Chandigarh under false pretenses, and then exploiting him for financial gain.

According to the investigation, the duo enticed the hotelier with promises of a lucrative business partnership, subsequently trapping him in a fabricated romantic scenario. While the victim was in Chandigarh, the accused allegedly extracted Rs 10 lakh in cash and later coerced him into signing documents that created a mortgage on a residential flat, effectively converting the money into a property asset.

The arrests were made after a coordinated operation by the Sikar Crime Branch, which recovered preliminary evidence linking the two suspects to the fraud. Police spokesperson Shyam Singh stated that the case is being treated as a serious financial crime and that further interrogation will aim to uncover any additional victims or accomplices.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against similar honey‑trap scams, especially those involving promises of business opportunities that require travel or large cash transactions. The investigation remains ongoing, and the suspects are currently in judicial custody pending trial.
