Rajasthan Panchayat Election: Results from 3,626 Villages, Mother-in-law of Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Wins

The second phase of Rajasthan’s gram panchayat elections covered 22 districts and a total of 3,626 village councils. Voters cast their ballots for both panch members and sarpanch positions on Friday, and the polling stations were closed by evening. After the polls closed, election officials began counting the votes, a process that extended well into the night. Among the early results, a notable victory emerged as the mother‑in‑law of senior BJP figure Gajendra Singh Shekhawat won the sarpanch seat in her village. The win is being viewed as a symbolic endorsement for the party’s grassroots network ahead of the final phase of the elections. Counting is expected to continue across the remaining villages, with the Election Commission slated to announce comprehensive results in the coming days.
