An IPS officer in Rajasthan has been placed on an Administrative Premises Order as investigators probe the alleged purchase of ten villas each by officials Agarwal and Mathur at the Ananta resort in Bujhda, Udaipur, in March 2026.

The Rajasthan police department has issued an Administrative Premises Order (APO) against an unnamed IPS officer following a probe into a large‑scale villa purchase at the Ananta resort in Bujhda, Udaipur. The APO restricts the officer's official duties while the investigation proceeds.

According to the Hindustan Times report, two individuals identified as Agarwal and Mathur allegedly bought ten villas each at the resort in March 2026, paying roughly ₹15 lakh per unit. The transaction, involving a total of twenty villas, has raised questions about possible misuse of authority and financial irregularities.

State authorities have launched a detailed inquiry, with the anti‑corruption bureau and the district collector’s office coordinating the investigation. Officials have not disclosed the identity of the IPS officer or the exact nature of the alleged violations, citing the sensitivity of the case.

The APO is a standard administrative measure used in Rajasthan to temporarily suspend officials pending clarification of alleged misconduct. No formal charges have been filed yet, and the officer has been asked to cooperate with investigators.

If the probe confirms any wrongdoing, the officer could face disciplinary action under the Indian Police Service rules, and the villa transactions may be subject to further legal scrutiny.
