The Anti‑Corruption Bureau has opened an investigation into a senior IAS‑IPS couple in Rajasthan over the purchase of 36 villas at prices far below market value.

The Rajasthan Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) has launched a probe into a senior IAS‑IPS couple over allegations that they acquired 36 residential villas at prices described as "throwaway" compared to prevailing market rates. The investigation was triggered after complaints suggested that the officials may have used their positions to secure the properties at unusually low costs.

The couple, who hold high‑ranking administrative and police posts in the state, are being asked to provide documentation related to the transactions, including source of funds and the method of allocation. ACB officials said they will scrutinise sale deeds, payment records and any possible irregularities in the way the villas were allotted.

No formal charges have been filed yet, and the officers have been instructed to cooperate fully with the inquiry. The case adds to a series of recent probes into public servants' asset holdings across India, reflecting heightened vigilance against corruption in the bureaucracy.
