The Rajasthan government has raised Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief by 3% to a combined 63% and will grant a Diwali bonus of up to ₹7,000 to around six lakh state employees.
The state administration announced a uniform increase of 3 percentage points in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), taking the combined rate to 63% effective from the upcoming salary cycle. The move aims to cushion government employees against rising living costs.
In addition to the allowance hike, the government approved a one‑time Diwali bonus of up to ₹7,000 for roughly six lakh staff members across various departments. The amount will vary according to pay scales and tenure, with senior officials expected to receive the maximum figure.
Officials said the decision was taken after reviewing inflation data and the fiscal space available in the state budget. The bonus and allowance adjustments will be reflected in the payroll for the month of November, ensuring that employees receive the benefits before the festive season.
The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, and it has been widely reported in regional media.
