The Rajasthan High Court warned the state government that it must take concrete steps to enforce the newly issued litigation policy within five weeks, failing which the chief secretary, principal law secretary and finance secretary will have to appear before the court to explain the delay.

The bench of the Rajasthan High Court issued a stern directive after the state government introduced a new litigation policy aimed at streamlining court cases. The court said the policy, which seeks to reduce frivolous filings and expedite pending matters, must be operational without further postponement.

Judges set a firm deadline of five weeks from the order for the government to demonstrate tangible implementation steps. If the deadline is missed, the court will summon the chief secretary, the principal law secretary and the finance secretary to appear personally and account for the delay.

Legal experts note that the ruling underscores the judiciary's growing impatience with administrative inertia. The officials are expected to present a detailed action plan before the deadline, and any further non‑compliance could lead to contempt proceedings.
