The state health department has halted registration of nine ART clinics, an ART bank and a surrogacy clinic until further notice after an advertisement displayed blue baby shoes.
Earlier this week the Rajasthan health department ordered the suspension of registration for a total of eleven assisted‑reproductive facilities. The list includes nine ART (in‑vitro fertilisation) clinics, a dedicated ART bank and a surrogacy clinic that operate under a single hospital network.
The suspension remains in effect until the department issues a fresh order, meaning the centres cannot enrol new patients or claim official recognition during the period.
The action was triggered after the hospital’s promotional material featured images of blue‑coloured baby shoes, which officials said could be misleading and contravene advertising norms for fertility services.
Health officials emphasized that the move aims to ensure compliance with existing regulations and to protect prospective parents from potentially deceptive marketing.
The department has asked the concerned hospital to revise its advertising and submit a compliance report before any further registration is considered.
