Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot highlighted the urgent need to protect India's biodiversity to ensure natural resources are available for coming generations.

Rajasthan Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot called for immediate action to safeguard the country's rich biodiversity, stressing that the health of ecosystems directly impacts the well‑being of future generations. He noted that India's varied flora and fauna, from the Western Ghats to the Thar desert, are under pressure from habitat loss, climate change and unsustainable exploitation.

The governor urged both government agencies and citizens to adopt conservation measures, including protecting natural habitats, promoting sustainable agriculture, and supporting community‑led stewardship programs. He emphasized that preserving biodiversity is not only an environmental imperative but also essential for food security, livelihoods and cultural heritage.

Gehlot's remarks come at a time when India is revisiting its commitments under international environmental accords. He called for stronger policy implementation and increased funding for research and conservation initiatives to ensure that the nation's natural wealth endures for generations to come.
